Western Sydney Community Forum is a member of the Greater Sydney Commission’s (GSC) Independent Social Reference Panel. Participation on the Panel has enabled us to work with the Social Commissioner, Heather Nesbitt, and the GSC to articulate the most important social and urban issues for the future of Western Sydney.

A key priority for the GSC is to develop District Plans for each Greater Sydney District.  The District Plans are about connecting local planning with longer-term regional planning and to better coordinate State and local government planning.

There are three districts across Greater Western Sydney:

District Local Government Areas Download Fact Sheet
West Central Blacktown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Parramatta, The Hills West Central Fact Sheet
West Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Penrith West District Fact Sheet
South West Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wollondilly South West Fact Sheet

The GSC is now holding briefings on the draft District Plans.

Community Group Briefing

The GSC is inviting organisational representatives to express an interest to attend the inaugural community group briefing. This is an opportunity for your organisation to be amongst the first to be briefed about the draft District Plans.

The briefing will be held on Monday 21 November 6pm – 8pm at a Parramatta venue. There will be an allocation of 200 seats. The GSC states that they will work with the EOIs that they receive to allocate places fairly to ensure an equitable spread of representation as much as is possible from across Greater Sydney.  To register your interest in attending, please click on this link. Registrations close Friday 4 November at 5pm.

Community Drop In Sessions

For those who are unable to attend the briefing, there will also be community drop in sessions across Greater Western Sydney.  The community drop in sessions are an opportunity for you to find out more about the draft District Plans, and ask questions and discuss feedback with members of the district planning team. All members of the community are welcome to drop in any time during the sessions listed below.
