Safe & Savvy: A Guide to Help Older People Avoid Abuse, Scams and Fraud  

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia developed this guide with the help of Council on the Ageing (COTA), National Seniors, Seniors Rights Service and State Trustees Limited, as well as others. This guide is to better understand and prevent elder financial abuse, such as learning the warning signs and understanding the rights, responsibilities and support services available for people who have experienced elder financial abuse.

Survey: Evaluation of the Aged Care Quality Standards

KPMG is conducting this survey on behalf of the Department of Health to gather feedback on the current Quality Standards, including the impact of the standards on consumers, providers and other key stakeholders. The survey is open until midnight (AEST) on 3 September 2021 and will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Dementia Australia Lockdown Counselling and Wellbeing Support

This dementia specific counselling and wellbeing support for Western Sydney residents during the lockdown period is available for use. Also, the wellbeing check-in is a Dementia Australia initiative to help maintain communication and engagement for people impacted by dementia and isolation.

Dementia Action Week

This year Dementia Action Week will run from 20 – 26 September. This week helps to provide tips to support people living with dementia, provide support to a carer, friend or family member of a person living with dementia, and to ensure that healthcare professionals are more inclusive of people with dementia. Connecting the Pieces – a Diversity, Wellness and Reablement Podcast

Connecting the Pieces is a podcast focused on connecting, supporting and promoting good diversity, wellness and reablement approaches in aged care. Hosted by the Regional Advisors for Diversity and Wellness in the Victorian Eastern Sector Development Team (ESDT), it provides insight into good practice in relation to diversity, wellness and reablement at all levels of policy, practice and evaluation. It also promotes an intersectional approach to service delivery. You can find the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcast.


Lockdown Skill-Up Program

3 Bridges  have a number of spots available for fee-free skillsets for those needing to upskill themselves, those who are worried about losing their job or those who have been stood down or are on any government benefits. All students need to be enrolled by 30 August 2021.
